Battery Packs

BaseWest’s original escape slide lighting battery packs began as non-regulated alkaline designs developed to support incandescent systems for the Boeing escape slide aftermarket including 737, 757, and 767. Our first OEM program award for our batteries came with the Boeing 737NG in 1996. The 777 program award in 1998 required development of electronically regulated “smart” batteries to support our LED-based lighting systems. Awards followed for the 737MAX, 787, and A350 A+ programs.

We remain the only Safran and Collins approved suppliers of “smart” batteries for their LED-based escape slide lighting systems. The “smart” battery family has been expanded with lithium-powered versions and waterproof designs for off-wing escape slide applications.

Our battery packaging capabilities include rechargeable batteries and charging circuits for our proprietary test sets..

Our very first FAA/PMA approved product was a
replacement battery for an aircrew flashlight.
Three decades later, these batteries are still in production and flying.
